Ways to Remove Rust From Motor Laminations

Put on the protective gloves and mix the rust removal agent with water in the container if it's in concentrated form. The ratio of rust remover to water will vary depending on the product you're using and how heavily the laminations are rusted. Consult the instructions on the packaging of the product you're using for confirmation.

Submerge the laminations in the mixed rust remover. Lightly rusted laminations will need to be left for between 10 and 30 minutes. Heavily rusted laminations could need up to 24 hours, depending on the brand of rust remover you're using.

Remove the laminations from the container and rinse with warm water and soap.
